Siemens Mobility Limited has formally submitted its bid to supply and maintain 54 trains for Phase One of High Speed Two (HS2).

Siemens Mobility has extensive experience in building high-speed rolling stock and infrastructure globally. Its Velaro Platform – a family of some of the world’s fastest high-speed trains – operates in countries such as Spain, China, Russia, Germany and the UK, where its Eurostar e320 fleet runs at 320km/h.
In the UK, Siemens Mobility maintains the largest installed base of Siemens rolling stock in the world, with its 500+ trains clocking up over 65 million miles every year. HS2 Ltd is expected to award the rolling stock contract to a successful bidder in Spring 2020.
Alongside London, Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds, HS2 services will also serve destinations beyond the core HS2 network, including York, Newcastle, Liverpool, the North West, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
