Raspberry Software, a specialist in rail revenue protection software has announced the launch of a new TIPS Fraud Module, a dedicated case management solution designed to help train operating companies (TOCs) investigate and resolve fare fraud through a single, connected platform.
Developed in collaboration with the wider rail industry, the TIPS Fraud Module addresses these challenges by providing a centralised digital solution for managing fraud investigations. With fare fraud estimated to cost the UK rail industry around £1 billion each year, the module helps TOCs bring investigation data together in one place, ensuring cases are managed consistently while reducing manual administration and improving visibility throughout the investigation process.
Built as both a standalone software, and something that can be integrated with Raspberry’s existing TIPS platform, the Fraud Module provides a structured, auditable process for managing cases from initial investigation through to settlement or prosecution. It brings together evidence, correspondence, data and financial information in one place, helping teams work more efficiently while supporting stronger, court-ready case files where required.
Peter Jarvis, director at Raspberry Software, says: “Rail fraud is rising almost daily and becoming increasingly complex. While train operating companies are successfully investing in larger in-house fraud teams to tackle the issue, investigations are often still managed using fragmented processes.
“The evolution of digital technology brings greater opportunities to identify and investigate fraud. Many offenders leave a digital footprint that can support investigations, when the right tools are in place.
“We have developed the TIPS Fraud Module to solve these very real challenges. Our aim is to help operators reduce revenue loss, improve consistency and give teams the tools they need to manage cases more efficiently and with greater confidence.”
The configurable module enables operators to tailor fraud categories, evidence requirements and correspondence to their own processes, while built-in automation helps improve data security and support GDPR compliance.
The launch strengthens Raspberry Software’s TIPS platform, providing train operators with a practical solution to improve fraud management as the rail industry continues to evolve.
The TIPS platform is Raspberry Software’s integrated rail revenue protection and case management system, helping train operating companies manage incidents, investigations and prosecutions through a single, secure platform.
