Charity the Railway Benefit Fund (RBF) have announced today that their much-loved ‘Heart of Gold’ Awards are back for their 6th year. The RBF Heart of Gold Awards celebrate those in the rail industry who go the extra mile and make a real difference. The nominations and voting are by the everyday people who work in rail, giving them the opportunity to thank the colleagues they appreciate, value and who inspire them.

Previous winners have been nominated for a variety of reasons; from supporting the local community, looking after their colleagues during difficult times, and even saving lives. Heart of Gold winners will receive a personalised award, presented by RBF President Pete Waterman OBE.

This year there are five awards categories to choose from:

Rising Star Award – Sponsored by Furrer + Frey

Lifetime Achievement Award – Sponsored by Railpen

Rail Hero Award – Sponsored by Freightliner

Wellbeing Champion Award – Sponsored by Health Shield

Team Award – Sponsored by Amaro

The deadline to submit a nomination is 24th September. Award sponsors will put together the shortlists in October, with voting going live and the winners being announced in November.
