This post will lead Transport Scotland’s oversight of ScotRail and the Caledonian Sleeper’s performance in key, high profile service reliability, punctuality and capacity indicators. This role will lead our review and challenge function, representing the interests of passengers and Scottish Ministers by working with train operators to deliver our challenging but achievable contract targets.
This role will be the lead representative on all rail performance matters, including consideration and development of future contract specifications; the sharing of knowledge on performance with other GB transport authorities; regular liaison with strategic timetable planning and resilience colleagues ensuring planned service enhancements achieve the stated objectives of Scottish Ministers, and that actions are captured from disruptive events to promote “lessons learned” improvements.

Transport is a vital feature of the Scottish Government's focus on increasing sustainable economic growth, and transport investments and policies have major impacts on the economy, people, and the environment.
Salary - £47,503 - £59,229
