Power Systems for Railway Applications

Using our PTS approved engineering team we are able to provide a design service that allows us to visit site and monitor existing battery applications. Using this information and 3D CAD modelling tools, we can evaluate and propose an alternative low maintenance solution for bespoke applications.

We have developed a number of Red Flash battery systems up to 150Ah capacity for signalling applications. Our products provide safe, low maintenance, portable solutions that are easy to install and fully recyclable. Valve regulated lead acid batteries are ideal for use on the rail network to provide back-up standby power in case of mains failure and a source of instant power for short high current demands. Their resistance to shock and vibration, coupled with wide operating temperatures, provide excellent performance characteristics in rail applications. Our Red Flash battery range is used in UPS systems, point end switching and level crossing applications. Individual Cyclon cells can be used in series to provide the desired voltage for small signalling loads.
