PERFORMANCE AND STRATEGY MANAGER

£70,000

This influential, high profile role calls for a unique combination of railway expertise and interpersonal skills. You’ll be joining a stable, expanding organisation, working on the largest addition to the south east rail network in half a century and the biggest project of its kind in Northern Europe. The experience you’ll gain here will also open up a wide range of career opportunities both internally and externally.

About us

A rich heritage. A strong commercial focus. An iconic brand. They all add up to make Transport for London a unique public service – and a great place to develop your career.

The role

Working with a high level of autonomy, you’ll lead the management of existing train performance regimes and the development of a new regime for Crossrail. This includes developing performance targets, reports and monitoring systems. You will also lead the development of a new performance modelling and simulation team.

You will use tools such as RailSys and TRAIL to examine the impact of performance as a result of timetable or infrastructure change. We’ll also look to you to provide expert advice on all performance issues, determine the negotiating framework for compensation payments and identify best practice.

What you’ll need

To be up to the challenge, you’ll need to have proved you can open a new passenger railway and manage a train operator performance regime. Previous experience of working in an operations team will be essential. Your exceptional communication, planning and lateral thinking skills are supported by a good knowledge of the contractual arrangements relating to train performance and the use of simulation tools to determine the impact on train performance, timetables and infrastructure changes.

Excellent benefits include:

• 30 days holiday plus public and bank holidays

• Final salary pension scheme

• Free Tube travel and travel concessions including discounted Eurostar travel

• Performance Award

• Private medical benefit
