If the idea of making the most of your pre and post contract management skills within an operation that’s defining a whole new way of travel appeals to you, make the move to Network Rail High Speed (NR HS). Responsible for operating and maintaining the UK’s first European High Speed Railway, we are privately financed and undertake a diverse range of activities from railway infrastructure maintenance and operations through to station facilities management and retail. Together, we work every day to achieve our vision – to deliver the best High Speed rail customer experience – and you could soon be playing a leading role.

Day-to-day, you’ll manage the assessment and valuation of contractors and provide management information to promote decision-making. We’ll also rely on you to estimate resources, help negotiate prices challenge cost elements, monitor site activities, carry out auditing, process applications and prepare payment certification. Ensuring that contractual specifications set out for the management of safety are effectively implemented and monitored, thus preventing potential non-compliance and delay which could incur risk, will be particularly key. Producing commercial correspondence and contractual notices, undertaking final account settlements, internal reconciliations and cost analysis of completed projects and offering professional advice that influences commercial behaviors – you’ll do all of this, and more.

Do you have?

A relevant professional qualification, experience in the railway and construction industry and detailed knowledge of pre and post contract management, procurement and competition legislation

A good understanding of financial issues and experience of working in a project environment

The ability to effectively communicate to all levels of people inside and outside a business, including proven negotiating skills.

Are you?

Enthusiastic about creating a world-class railway infrastructure

Motivated by innovative projects

A strong team player who can thrive within an ambitious team

Willing to split your time between Singlewell and other locations such as St. Pancras International
