GB Railfreight requires an experienced Account Manager from within the rail industry to join our growing Commercial team. The successful applicant must have the relevant specialist and industry qualifications to undertake the role.

 

The job holder will be required to optimise the performance and maximise the profitability of a variety of Network Rail contracts, including Seasonal, HS1 and Crossrail contracts through active liaison with customers, clients and associated suppliers.

 

The post holder will be the key point of contact for customers and demonstrate excellent communication and relationship building skills.  They will be required to establish a clear point of contact for all issues relating to GBRf’s delivery of its Commercial and Safety obligations within the contract and any associated variations.

 

The successful candidate will manage contracts ensuring they are fit for purpose to suit the needs of the business and ensure issues are resolved in a timely and appropriate manner. They will also be required to produce regular monthly performance statistics and deliver annual revenue / return on sales targets for each contract as set by their Manager.

 

This is a fast paced role and the successful jobholder must be willing to undertake frequent travel for the needs of the business.

 

The role requires a commercial acumen, operational understanding, attention to detail with advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Word and Outlook) as report writing is an essential part of the role.

 

Essential Skills:

Commercial acumen

Understanding of GBRf Contracts with Network Rail

Knowledge of railway operations

Account management experience

Advanced Microsoft office suit (Word, Excel and Outlook)

GCSE’s (or equivalent) English and Maths (Grade C or above)

Good interpersonal skills

Report writing skills

Ability to take ownership of end to end contract delivery

Clean UK driving licence

 

Desirable:

Demonstrating the ability to handle difficult management situations

Tender writing experience

Basic understanding of the Rule book

Personal Track Safety Certificate
